Enrolments

We welcome enrolment enquiries throughout the year. Please give us a call to arrange a private school tour so you can learn more about how our College might be a good fit for your child. Enrolment Packs can be collected from the College during a tour.

Enrolment

Our school zone

Eligible children and young persons have the right to be admitted to their designated neighbourhood government school, regardless of capacity. Accordingly, all students that reside within the area of a designated neighbourhood school (referred to as a ‘school zone’) must be offered a place when seeking enrolment. You can check our school zone here.

A student’s designated neighbourhood school is generally the school that is nearest the student’s permanent address as determined by the school zone.

The Find My School website provides guidance on which school zone a student’s permanent residence is located within. We welcome students from the Colac-Otway and neighbouring regions. However, these students may not be entitled to free bus services and a small fee may be applied.

For more information on school zones, you can:
• visit School zones for answers to frequently asked questions
• call the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) on 1800 896 950
• email the VSBA at vsba@education.vic.gov.au

Foundation (Prep) enrolments
The Department of Education (DE) has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.
The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Lavers Hill K-12 College.
You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline and procedures at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

Starting School

Camps, Sports & Excursion Fund (CSEF)

The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.

If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. The form is available from the front office and it is part of the standard enrolment pack. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seekers and refugee families. The payment amount this year is $225 for eligible secondary school students and $125 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school, which is used towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

It is important that funding made available in 2023 supports students to participate in school trips, camps and sporting activities this year rather than being held for future years. If you applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

Bus Services

Our Lavers Hill campus is currently being serviced by three bus routes. These bus routes are operated by Public Transport Victoria and it is free for our students in our designated school zone. A small fee may be applied for those who reside outside the designated school zone.

  1. Horden Vale-Glenaire-Johanna
  2. Beech Forest-Ferguson- Lavers Hill
  3. Colac-Gellibrand- Lavers Hill

In addition, we have a school-owned 7-seater car to service those students that live along Kennedy’s Creek-Princetown-Yuulong.

Our GOALS campus is located on the main Murray Street and it is easily accessible to bus and train services.
