The study of Wood Technology at Lavers Hill aims to:

  • develop an interest in timber
  • give students experience in research planning/drawing and constructing projects, in timber and related materials
  • develop work plans/design briefs
  • consider safety at all times
  • provide experience with hand and power tools
  • solve design/construction problems
  • improve skills

Our projects include: Birdhouses, Cabinets, Toys, Leatherwork, Carving, Wood burning and as competence and skills develop, an opportunity for individual design.
