Our heated swimming pool is a fabulous asset for both the College and the community. Lavers Hill College is the only school in the district to have its own indoor pool.
The facility is a legacy of Cliffy Young’s famous win in the 1983 Ultra-marathon and its operation is overseen by the Pool Committee.
In-school swimming lessons
Students have regular swimming lessons and work towards certificates in the Royal Life Saving ‘Swim and Survive’ program.
Members of staff – Michelle Ferrari, Jan Ratcliff & Kath Speirs – have AUSTSWIM accreditation, as well as pool lifeguard qualifications. Dylan Clissold is also studying to achieve an AUSTSWIM qualification.
Community use of the pool
When not in use by the College, the pool is available for use by the community – as long as you obtain a pool membership.
Please note that Day Pass holders must be escorted by at least one adult full member.
To obtain a Pool Membership please return a completed Consenting of Recognition of Risk form (download below) and money to the College. Pool membership fees are listed below.
Keys are available from Yatzies, the Brauer’s house or the College Office – once a Membership Pass is allocated.
