Secondary Art
The study of art at Lavers Hill aims to:
- develop intellectual, imaginative and expressive potential through art exercises
- develop ideas, skills, techniques and a knowledge of processes as a basis of personal expression
- encourage manipulation, experimentation and construction with art materials and mediums
- develop the ability to create the present art works
- develop critical skills and an understanding of aesthetics, with reference to art elements and principles
- develop a creative approach to problem solving and to develop an awareness between technology and visual arts
- develop an understanding of how art evolves within particular cultural and historical contexts
- enjoy participating in the processes of creating, presenting and responding to art
- develop the skills to follow verbal and written instructions to aid practical and theoretical tasks
- complete a folio of art
