Inquiry
Inquiry learning is a student-driven subject block covering the Australian Curriculum learning areas of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as addressing the General Capabilities and Cross Curriculum Priorities.
Students are encouraged to ask questions and explore topics using a range of resources. They participate in a variety of tasks and activities designed to suit all learning styles, developing deeper thinking and problem solving skills. ICT is utilised as students discover new ways of researching and presenting their ideas.
Each term a broad theme is selected and students work with teachers to establish an area of personal interest. They then direct their own learning to respond to their initial thoughts and questions. Students regularly share their ideas and present their work to the class.
An integral part of Inquiry is student reflection on learning and goal setting for future projects.
