Middle Years students are investigating ancient civilisations as part of their History and English studies.

The Years 5 and 6 students have taken on ancient Greek personas and are writing the following blog trying to stay as true to the times as a blog will allow!

Anyte' bed

When I go to bed I always have something soft to sleep on but I do just sleep on wood on the floor. But it actually is not bad because by the time your asleep you can’t even feel it and when my friends come to stay the night they say that I like to talk in my sleep when they actually think I’m awake.

Anytes way of fun

In the morning I go outside after some food and i meet my friends and I go out to play either
Soccer skipping or hop scotch me and my friends usually do skipping because the winer gets to have some orange juice and gets a trophy.

Anyte eats

As you should Know I am in 269BCE. and the sort of thing we eat are grapes, apples, pears, but only on special occasions do we eat meat i love my life here and you would to. I only eat four meals a day I have my morning food in the middle of the day I have food during night time I have food and after that I have a little treat.

My New Crop

The barley crop was going well so I sold the seeds and have bought some wheat seeds. I’ve put everything I have into growing this wheat. Thalpius will advise me on how to grow it. As it is more difficult to grow than barley but produces a higher quality flour. That commands a higher price and the return shall be greater.

Slow Start

The wheat crop isn’t growing as well expected. It’s been a bit dry and we had a short period of locust swap. A small section of the crop was damaged. The last two showers of rain have revitalised the crop.

Getting Worried

The barley would be ready for harvest by now. This new wheat crop is getting me worried. Thapius keeps telling me to be patient. The crop is looking good though.

Harvest Time

Harvest time, finally it’s ready. Today I will harvest the crop. It has not grown as well as expected the yield however looks very good and the quality of the wheat is very high. I have several buyers lined up to purchase the wheat. It was a big gamble but it looks like it has payed off.

Best Bread In Greece

The wheat has produced the highest quality flour Greece has ever seen. People are amazed by the delious taste of the bread. I have kept serveral bags of seeds for another crop. I have orders far outweighing what I can produce. Thapsious wants to become partners and expand the farm.
